You may have seen me post about buying my domain name at godaddy.com. Well, I FINALLY figured out how to direct my iweb creation to my personal domain name and it's awesome!!!

If you'd like to create your own wedding website using your mobileme account (from mac) and your own personal domain name, I may be able to help! First you can sign up for your free 60 day trial at apple.com. After your two month trial the service is $99/year and well worth it in my opinion with all of the features it offers (online gallery-perfect for brides like us!). Then go to godaddy.com and start searching for available domain names (warning i think the new ".me" domains do not work with iweb). My domain name with the coupon code "OYH3" (take out the quotes) was around $14 for two years.

Once you have bought your domain name on godaddy, go to DOMAINS and then choose MY DOMAINS. You may have to log in at this point. Click on the domain name link and this opens up the domain manager. Click on "Total DNS Control and MX Records" under the TOTAL DNS heading. Under CNAMES (ALIASES) click "Add a new CNAME record". Enter the alias name as your new domain name you just purchased (example: mysite.com). Under the "points to host name" field, type in web.me.com and leave the TTL as it is.

Then go back to your mobileme start page and click on the account tab (icon is the person). Click on the tab for Personal domain and type in the domain name you purchased and then click the done button (since you've already done the steps-in more detail-that they tell you). Mine took literally minutes to update once I had all of the information in the correct fields (I was having problems b/c mobileme's directions for the CNAME completely confused me and I had them switched).
